Osun APC Mega Rally: Akpabio, Governors Storm Osogbo as Oyebamiji Battles Adeleke

The Osun APC mega rally has drawn Senate President Godswill Akpabio, governors and other senior All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders to Osogbo, the Osun State capital, as the party makes its final push ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

Akpabio joined the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma, and other party leaders at the rally.

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa also attended the event.

Member of the House of Representatives for Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, was among the other APC figures at the rally.

The party organised the event to boost support for its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.

The rally comes as the campaign period closes. APC leaders and supporters are expected to use the final mobilisation to strengthen the party’s grassroots network across Osun State.

The party has also urged its supporters to remain focused as the election approaches.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) moved the governorship election from August 8 to August 15, 2026. The commission subsequently set August 13 as the deadline for campaign activities.

Oyebamiji emerged as the APC candidate after the party conducted its governorship primary in Osogbo.

He now faces a major contest against the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking another term under the Accord Party.

Other candidates, including those of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), are also seeking the governorship.

With voting just days away, the Osun APC mega rally represents a final opportunity for the APC to energise its supporters and present a united front.

However, the real test will come at the polling units, where voters will decide who leads Osun State for the next term.
