Udom Emmanuel, the governor of Akwa Ibom State and head of the PDP’s presidential campaign committee, has acknowledged that the party made mistakes.
The party won’t be destroyed by the error, he insisted.
This was said by Mr. Emmanuel in a Tuesday interview with the daily Thisday.
“I must also admit that both as a party and as individuals, we have committed mistakes. But I can tell you that we will not be destroyed by these errors. I can guarantee you that we’ll do that. We’re attempting to return, review, and then reappraise in order to determine how we can go.
Mr. Emmanuel was responding to the G5-led demand from five PDP governors that Iyorchia Ayu be removed as the PDP’s national chairman.
The G5 governors, according to the governor of Akwa Ibom, are all still PDP members and four of them are running for office in the upcoming election.
Even plates and spoons bump into one another and make a lot of noise; this does not indicate that they are broken. They haven’t necessarily broken, though. That, in my opinion, is the circumstance. With a massive party like the PDP, it is inevitable—absolutely inevitable—that people will be angry.
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, a former PDP presidential candidate, is in charge of the G5.

Mr. Wike and the others have been courted by Atiku to rejoin the party.
Why Emmanuel thinks Atiku will win
Despite the party’s internal strife, Mr. Emmanuel, who Atiku also defeated in the PDP presidential primaries, predicted that the former vice president will prevail in the 2023 election.
“I’m not bragging, but Atiku is the only candidate running today who has the same skills, expertise, and comprehension of the issue and what needs to be done for Nigeria. There isn’t even a single thing. I’m providing you a completely unbiased evaluation without any favoritism at all.
I am following because I love my nation, which is why you see me doing so. I cherish my clan. Give it to Atiku; he can put a square peg in a square hole and achieve the outcome. I want this country to improve, especially in terms of the gathering of excellent individuals with sincere intents.
“I assert that I am not considering any permutation. I’m optimistic going into this because, if I’m going with a permutation, it indicates I shouldn’t be the campaign council’s chairman. I’m choosing positivity. If I didn’t believe I would succeed, I would not have agreed to be the chairman. Therefore, we are competing to win. In this scenario, Mr. Emmanuel stated, there is absolutely no permutation.
