The statement against Ademola Adeleke, a former governorship candidate of the party, by Taiwo Oluga, the lawmaker representing Irewole/Isokan/Ayedaade Federal Constituency of the state in the House of Representatives, has been described as unfortunate, amusing and smacks of indecent vituperation by The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the statement against Ademola Adeleke, a former governorship candidate of the party, by Taiwo Oluga, the lawmaker representing Irewole/Isokan/Ayedaade Federal Constituency of the state in the House of Representatives, as unfortunate, amusing and smacks of indecent vituperation.
In a reaction made exclusively available to DAILY POST on Tuesday by the Osun PDP Media Office and signed by Oladele Bamiji, the Osun PDP Media Director stated that it understood that the statement from Oluga was made in her desperate mood to warm herself into the hearts of her party to get patronage due to her inability to succeed at her duty post.
While noting that such desperation should have been applied with some level of decorum befitting her position as a federal legislator, the PDP stated that the good people of the constituency she represents were the worst for it for having her represent them.
According to the Osun PDP Media Office “We also sympathize with the good people of Irewole/Isokan/Ayedaade Federal Constituency for having such a misfit and intellectually deranged, represent them at the parliament. It is unfortunate enough having such a beautiful nonentity as an emblem of a family, let alone a constituency of accomplished men and women of candour.”
The party counseled the lawmaker to read beyond the mischievous handouts given to her about Senator Ademola Adeleke in order for her to come to terms with a rich history of service of the charismatic Adeleke who had served and contributed immensely at the directorate level in various companies.
“Oluga should also avail herself with the unmatchable records of service delivery of Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke when he served the good people of Osun West Senatorial district of Osun State within just a space of 2 years, including full university scholarships for over 200 indigent students of the Senatorial District.
“Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke is today, hundreds of miles preferred by the electorates in the state based on his rich history as a compassionate leader, whose love for the state is beyond comprehension for people like Oluga.
“Senator Adeleke does not need to superintend over Adeleke university where other Nigerians are gainfully employed to prove his passion and love for his people. His track record and that of his siblings in the annals of Osun State and Nigeria at large speak volumes of his nature and capacity to take the state out of the woods,” the statement read.
They urged the federal legislator, whom they alleged did not have any traceable record in public or private engagements before getting elected, not to plug her reasoning with such unfounded and baseless information.
While calling for forgiveness of Taiwo Oluga by the Osun electorate for her overzealousness as exhibited by her foul utterances, the PDP described her as a little politician still struggling with the ropes of self-dignity and productive representation expected of her office.
“As an illogical marketer coupled with finding herself in a political party where mediocrity thrives, Taiwo couldn’t have done any better.
“We also implore Taiwo Oluga to desist from equating governance with night crawling activities. We expect her to at least offer her constituents some reasons why she was imposed to represent them in Abuja instead of getting tossed around for easy, dirty jobs”, the statement concluded.
Taiwo Oluga had on Monday, during a media parley, called out on Deji Adeleke, father to entertainer, Davido to appoint his younger brother, Senator Ademola Adeleke as Vice-Chancellor of Adeleke University before he could even think of governing Osun State.
Her statement may not be unconnected to Ademola Adeleke’s ambition to contest for the governorship position under the banner of the PDP in the 2022 Osun gubernatorial election.
