The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on its members across the country to put aside personal interests and unite in pursuit of the overall growth and stability of the party.
This position was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of an Expanded Emergency Meeting of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) held on Wednesday.
In the communiqué, the BoT acknowledged what it described as the continued support, loyalty, and solidarity shown by Nigerians toward the PDP, particularly through the ongoing nationwide electronic registration of members.
According to the party, reports from various parts of the country indicate that the membership drive is recording daily registrations running into millions.
The BoT noted that the growing interest in the party, despite existing challenges, reflects the PDP’s position as a preferred political platform for many Nigerians ahead of the 2027 Nigerian General Elections.
The party leadership therefore urged members and leaders at all levels to put aside individual and group ambitions in order to strengthen the party.
The communiqué stated that millions of Nigerians currently look to the PDP for leadership and solutions to national challenges.
The Board of Trustees also commended the contributions of PDP governors, particularly Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, for what it described as their commitment and steadfastness to the party and the wellbeing of Nigerians.
