The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointment of Taiwo Oyedele as a minister-designate in the administration of Bola Tinubu.

The confirmation followed a voice vote by lawmakers during the Committee of the Whole session at the Red Chamber.

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, announced the approval after senators unanimously cleared the nominee.

Oyedele is expected to replace Doris Uzoka-Anite as Minister of State for Finance.

The development comes days after President Tinubu forwarded Oyedele’s nomination to the Senate, requesting legislative confirmation in line with constitutional requirements.

With the confirmation, Oyedele is set to assume responsibilities at the Federal Ministry of Finance as part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen economic management.
