Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, won the presidential election in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), securing the capital city for his party.

With 478,923 accredited votes and results announced in the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Gwagwalada, Abaji, Kwali, Bwari, Kuje, and AMAC, Peter Obi received 281,717 votes, Bola Tinubu of the governing APC received 90,902 votes, and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP received 74,199 votes.

As the AMAC results came in, Obi, who had been leading since Sunday when he won Bwari, Kuje, and Gwagwalada, gained his greatest share of the vote, winning 170,392 votes in the area council, beating out the candidates for the APC and PDP, who received 29,596 and 26,407 votes, respectively.
