Residents of the state have been admonished by the Oyo State Police Command not to stir up political unrest or potentially cause mayhem after the elections.
Adebowale Williams, the state’s police commissioner, also urged citizens to refrain from sharing and disseminating false election results on social media and other news outlets in violation of INEC policy and guidelines (INEC).
The command views this tendency as a calculated attempt to stoke political unrest and maybe bring about instability after the elections.

The Oyo State Police Command wishes to appeal to parents, guardians, and leaders with varying degrees of power to prevent their children, wards, and protégés from being used as cannon fodder to disrupt the polity as commensual sanctions would be meted out on defaulters.

Although extensive security has been installed for the safety and security of the wonderful citizens of Oyo State, the order assured residents that they can go about their lawful business without fear of harassment or molestation.
