After further video emerged showing the man punching her, the murder charges against Carlishia Hood, the mother seen in a video encouraging her 14-year-old son to shoot & kill a man at a fast-food restaurant in Chicago, USA, were dropped.

Following the death of Jeremy Brown, 32, on June 18 at the Maxwell Street Express, a fast-food business south of downtown Chicago, MS Hood and her son were charged with first-degree murder.

When the incident occurred, she was in possession of a Firearm Owners Identification Card and a license to carry a concealed firearm.

All charges against the mother and son were dropped on June 26 and they were both released.

The decision to withdraw the charges was “based upon our continued review & in light of emerging evidence,” according to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office. We are unable to carry out our burden of proof in the prosecution of these matters on the basis of the facts, the evidence, and the law.
