Two alleged kidnappers were killed by Adamawa State Police Command operations during a raid on their hideout.
The operation was conducted on Sunday, December 3, according to the command, which made this announcement in a statement on Monday.
According to a statement made public by Police Public Relations Officer Suleiman Nguroje, PPRO, the command claimed it had severed ties with the criminal network that was active in Cameroon, Taraba, Adamawa, and Yobe states.
“The command’s operatives attached to Crack Squad executed the planned operation in concert with hunters.”
“The results of these victories followed up on cooperative tactics created by the command to checkmate cases pertaining to, among other things, kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, and unlawful firearm possession,” the statement read.
The PPRO clarified that earlier on November 30, the aforementioned police officers and cooperating hunters had created a security ring around a few locations that had been identified as hideouts.
When the alleged kidnappers “seen our men, they engaged them in a fierce gun duel, as a result of which two of them were neutralized while others escaped with bullet wounds,” he said that the work had paid off on December 3.
From the suspects, 92 rounds of live ammo and four AK-47 weapons were found.
The hunters were tasked with pursuing individuals who were evading capture and ensuring their arrest and conviction by the Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, who expressed gratitude to both his officers and men for their bravery.
