On Thursday, June 15, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will launch the National Economic Council, which will be led by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The inauguration comes a week after he asked the National Economic Council to convene to devise actions to minimize the effects of the gasoline subsidies.
The President charged the council with assisting his administration in improving the country’s economic fortunes.
He reminded the council of his inaugural speech commitment to focus on eight priority sectors, including security, the economy, job creation, agriculture, and infrastructure, among others.
President Tinubu also stated that the burden of increasing the economy is immense, but he and the Governors should have no reason to complain, emphasizing the need to harness the nation’s potentials to drive real growth.
