Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda has been appointed as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the party’s 14th National Executive Committee meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

His appointment follows the resignation of former chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje due to health reasons and was ratified through a consensus-driven decision aimed at uniting the party.

Yilwatda, a former Plateau State governorship candidate, is recognized for his technocratic expertise, loyalty to the party, and grassroots appeal—qualities that influenced his emergence as the consensus candidate.

The NEC meeting, presided over by President Bola Tinubu and attended by top APC leaders and lawmakers, signaled a new leadership phase as the party prepares for upcoming off-cycle governorship elections and internal reforms.
In a strategic move to strengthen party cohesion, the APC has chosen Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda to fill the vacancy left by Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s resignation.
