Viktoria Plzen striker Rafiu Durosinmi has been shortlisted for the UEFA Europa League matchday one Goal of the Day award after his thunderous finish against Ferencváros.

The 22-year-old Nigerian opened scoring in the 16th minute on Thursday night, latching onto a pass before outpacing his marker and blasting a volley past the goalkeeper. The goal underlined his fine form, taking his tally to seven goals in 13 matches this season.

Despite Durosinmi’s brilliance, Aleksandar Pešić snatched a stoppage-time equaliser for Ferencváros, forcing Plzen to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Durosinmi now battles three other contenders for the coveted Goal of the Day award.
