On November 28, 2022, the rail service between Abuja and Kaduna will recommence.
Eight months ago, the service was put on hold following a terrorist attack on the phone line.
This information was provided to our correspondent in Abuja on Thursday by a source at the Idu rail station.
On March 28, 2022, terrorists ambushed the Abuja-Kaduna train, capturing 168 passengers and killing eight more.
Since then, the victims have been released in waves; the most recent 23 were freed in October.
The tracker and cameras were being installed at the Idu rail station, the source claims, by some contractors.
Although they were unable to install the cameras, they were able to put the trackers on LOKO 2809 and DMU 003.
“Fidet Okhiria, the managing director of Nigeria Railway Corporation, is closely watching it from Lagos.
The insider stated, “We are planning to start running by next week Monday.”
