A member of the House of Representatives representing Bade/Jakusko Federal Constituency, Hassan Kaikaku Jakduwa, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Jakduwa announced his defection on Sunday via his official Facebook page, stating that the decision followed extensive consultations and careful reflection.
According to the lawmaker, the move is aimed at enhancing his ability to deliver democratic dividends to his constituents and attract greater development opportunities to Bade/Jakusko Federal Constituency in Yobe State.
“My choice is driven by the desire to align with a platform that will further enhance my capacity to serve effectively and attract more opportunities and development to our constituency,” he stated.
He expressed confidence that the switch would strengthen efforts toward improving the welfare of the people, adding that his commitment to public service remains unchanged.
Jakduwa also appreciated the leadership and members of the APC for what he described as a warm reception, while thanking his supporters and well-wishers for their continued trust and encouragement.
“I assure you all that my dedication to service remains firm and unwavering. Together, we will continue to work for peace, progress and prosperity in our constituency, Yobe State and Nigeria at large,” he added.
