Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has renewed his commitment to the Rivers First Principle, insisting that the policy continues to guide his administration’s development agenda across the state.

In a statement marking the third anniversary of his government, Governor Fubara said the Rivers First Principle has shaped every major decision taken since he assumed office. He stressed that the welfare of Rivers people remains at the centre of his policies and projects.

According to the governor, his administration invested heavily in road construction to improve connections between rural and urban communities. He explained that better roads would also strengthen economic activities and attract investors into the state.

Among the major projects highlighted were the Port Harcourt Ring Road, the Trans-Kalabari Highway, the Elele/Umudioga/Egbeda/Ubimini/Ikiri/Omoku Road and the Ngo-Atlantic/Oyorokoto Road.

Furthermore, Governor Fubara thanked Rivers residents for supporting his administration over the past three years. He promised to continue using public funds responsibly while ensuring that development projects reflect the needs of the people.

The governor also linked the progress recorded by his administration to the resilience and cooperation of Rivers people. He pledged to lead with transparency and accountability.

Meanwhile, Governor Fubara urged youths, women, traders, professionals and community leaders to continue supporting the growth of the state. He added that Nigeria’s 27 years of uninterrupted democratic rule prove that citizens can work together despite political and ethnic differences.

The Rivers First Principle, he said, will remain the foundation of his administration’s vision for sustainable development in Rivers State.
