Rivers SSG Benibo Anabraba Quits PDP, Sparks Speculation on APC Move

Benibo Anabraba, Secretary to the Rivers State Government, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Anabraba announced his decision in a letter dated January 5, 2026, addressed to the PDP chairman of Ward 1 in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area. He cited personal reasons for stepping down, while expressing gratitude for the political platform, support, and opportunities the party provided during his tenure.

Although he did not reveal his next political step, sources indicate that Anabraba may soon join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), a move that could reshape political alignments in the state.
