As Muslims across Nigeria and around the globe mark the joyous celebration of Eid-ul-Adha, President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has extended heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah, calling for unity, patience, and peaceful coexistence among all Nigerians.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio emphasized the significance of the sacred Islamic festival, noting that Eid-el-Kabir embodies the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, and compassion.

“As we commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son, we are reminded of the values of obedience, faith, and selflessness,” the Senate President said.

Akpabio encouraged Nigerians to reflect on these values and apply them in their daily lives to foster national cohesion and peace. He further acknowledged the current socio-economic challenges facing the country, but expressed confidence in the reform agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“We also recognise the challenges our nation faces and the efforts of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to address them. His economic and fiscal reforms, though difficult, are yielding results and paving the way for a brighter future,” Akpabio stated.

He urged citizens to remain resilient and patient, highlighting the importance of interfaith harmony and collective progress.

“Let us use this occasion to promote interfaith harmony, national unity, and development. May Allah bless our nation and grant us peace and prosperity,” he concluded.

Senator Akpabio also extended his personal greetings on behalf of his family, constituents, and the 10th National Assembly, wishing all Muslims a peaceful and joyous celebration.

“Eid Mubarak to all Muslims,” he said.
