President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday briefly lost his footing and fell during an official welcome ceremony in Ankara, Turkey’s capital.
The incident occurred as Tinubu walked alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the ceremonial ground. The Nigerian leader appeared to have missed a step, causing him to stumble before falling momentarily.
Officials at the venue swiftly moved in to assist the President, helping him regain his balance within seconds. Tinubu rose immediately and continued with the ceremony, drawing no interruption to the scheduled diplomatic engagement.
The visit forms part of Tinubu’s ongoing international engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and Turkey.
