Security Forces Nab Armed Bandit After Gun Duel in Zamfara

Security forces have arrested an armed bandit following a gun battle along the Tsafe–Yanwaren Daji feeder road in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the development in a post on X on Monday, noting that the clash occurred at about 4:55 p.m. on December 21.

Makama said the bandits had mounted a roadblock and disrupted movement when a security patrol team stormed the area.

According to him, the patrol team engaged the criminals in a fierce gunfight, forcing several of them to flee with gunshot injuries.

“One of the bandits was arrested during the encounter. He was identified as Umar Alhaji Buhari, also known as Bingel,” Makama stated.

He added that security operatives later cleared the road, restoring free movement for motorists and other road users.

The arrested suspect has since been handed over to the Zamfara State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Gusau for further investigation.
