Former Abia State Governor and Chief Whip of the 9th Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has condemned the abduction of the Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Samaila Bambu, describing it as a grim reflection of Nigeria’s deepening insecurity.

Bambu was reportedly seized on Friday evening from his hometown in Bagudo Local Government Area, shortly after observing his evening prayers.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Kalu lamented the rising spate of kidnappings and called for unified, non-partisan efforts to combat insecurity nationwide.
“This incident in Kebbi once again shows that insecurity has become a nationwide problem that must be confronted without politics or bias,” Kalu asserted.

He urged the Federal Government to strengthen counter-insurgency operations and adopt proactive strategies to safeguard lives and property across the country.

Meanwhile, security agencies have launched a manhunt for the abductors, while residents have been advised to stay calm and cooperate with ongoing investigations.
