Operatives of the Yobe State Hisbah Commission have destroyed several cartons of alcohol confiscated during a recent operation, following a court directive authorizing the exercise.
According to a statement signed by the Commission’s spokesman, Sibawaihi Ukasha Gashua, the destruction was carried out in compliance with an order issued by the Lower Shari’ah Court. The seized items were intercepted on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from a J5 vehicle that departed from Jos, Plateau State.
Gashua explained that both the suspects and the seized exhibits were arraigned before the court, where judgment was delivered in accordance with Shari’ah law.
He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to intensify efforts aimed at curbing immoral practices and promoting a disciplined, morally upright society across Yobe State.
