Nigerian singer Simi has called for sanctions against airport staff who filmed and shared a video showing Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson’s indecent exposure.

In an Instagram story, Simi questioned why Emmanson was punished for her onboard behavior while those who recorded and posted the clip—without blurring her private parts—faced no consequences.

“Someone recorded her being dragged off the plane, exposed, and then posted it without editing or blurring it out. I want to know who posted that video and why no one is holding them accountable,” Simi wrote. “Posting her half-naked for millions to see when less than 10 people witnessed it live deserves punishment too. You can’t condemn one madness and ignore another.”

The viral footage captured Emmanson’s removal from Ibom Air Flight Q153 after she allegedly refused to switch off her phone during takeoff. The confrontation with flight crew and ground staff escalated before she was escorted off the aircraft.

Simi’s comments have sparked renewed debate about privacy violations, digital ethics, and the responsibilities of those handling sensitive recordings.
