Sophia Momodu has revealed that emotional and psychological abuse after she became pregnant out of wedlock contributed to a period when she struggled to find her voice.

The Nigerian entrepreneur and influencer spoke about her experience at a United Nations General Assembly event in New York on Monday.

Momodu said she faced intense public criticism because she became pregnant outside marriage while she was the daughter of a pastor.

She explained that the attention and ridicule became difficult to handle, especially because of her public profile.

“I am a pastor’s daughter who got pregnant out of wedlock by a global superstar. And I was mocked. It was crazy,” she said.

Momodu said the experience left her searching for a way to rebuild herself.

She added that the emotional trauma affected her ability to speak out, despite being a well-known public figure.

According to her, she had to find herself again while dealing with the pressure surrounding her pregnancy and her relationship with singer Davido.

The revelation highlights the pressure public figures can face when private experiences become subjects of public discussion.

For Momodu, however, the experience went beyond public criticism. She described it as a period that affected her emotionally and psychologically.

She said she eventually had to confront the experience and work towards rediscovering her identity.

The comments have renewed discussions about how society treats women who become pregnant outside marriage.

They also raise questions about the impact of public judgement on people dealing with personal struggles.

Sophia Momodu has previously spoken publicly about aspects of her life and her experiences as a mother and public figure.

Her latest comments show how public attention can add another layer of pressure to deeply personal situations.

Rather than judging people by their circumstances, her account points to the importance of empathy and responsible public conversations.
