Popular Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Ajemba Stanley, professionally known as Stanley Ontop, has alleged that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) presidential election was “hijacked” by forces outside the Guild.
The national election, held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Edo State, saw National Secretary Abubakar Yakubu defeat actress Rita Daniels, mother of movie star Regina Daniels.
Reacting on his Instagram page, Stanley condemned the process, insisting that the outcome was marred by external interference.
He wrote that the election “appears unfair, particularly concerning Hon. Rita Daniels’ candidacy,” alleging that “a powerful individual in Abuja” influenced the result. Stanley maintained that Rita Daniels would have won “hands down” if not for what he described as manipulation by vested interests.
