Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, a Nigerian music star, has been nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars in 2023.
Tems was nominated for her work as a songwriter on Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up,” which was featured on the soundtrack for Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

The music sensation collaborated on the song “Lift Me Up” with Rihanna, music producer Ludwig Göransson, and Black Panther director Ryan Coogler.

Snoop Dogg, an American rapper, recently requested a collaboration on a hit song with Tems, demonstrating the 27-year-old star’s global rising fame.

The complete list of nominees was released on Tuesday, and the sci-fi multiverse hit “Everything Everywhere All at Once” led the pack with 11 nominations.
