Babatunji Wusu –

The Nigeria Police Force’s spokesperson, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has responded to a viral story of a 20-year-old lady who was allegedly gang-raped in Imo State.
@PIDOMNIGERIA, an X user, posted the heartbreaking account of a victim who was allegedly enticed to a location by suspected rapists who hacked her friend’s phone.

The woman had begged the suspects to let her leave because she was on her monthly cycle, but they refused and proceeded to rape her.

The guy allegedly raped the girl while consuming crystal meth, also known as Mkpuru Mmiri, a prohibited narcotic.

Following the incident, the lady opened up to a neighbor who came to the scene, and two of the perpetrators were apprehended while one escaped.

In response, Olumuyiwa Adejobi condemned the crime, saying that the situation would not be ignored and that the police will do everything possible to serve justice.

“We completely condemn this heinous act,” he said. The issue will never be swept under the carpet. We have informed the Imo State Police Command, and I will personally watch the situation. Rape and DGV are brutal, and we must do everything possible to prevent them. @PIDOMNIGERIA, thank you for bringing it to our attention and following through.”
