Three adolescent boys have been detained by the Anambra State Police Command for allegedly gang-raping their next-door neighbor’s 13-year-old girl in Enekwesumpu Nkpor, Idemili North LGA. The father of the victim is a co-tenant with the suspects who have been apprehended, who have been given the names Sunday, Emelie, Chiedu, and another who is still at large.
After the victim filed a complaint, agents of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and security personnel from the Anambra Vigilante Group detained them. The victim claimed that after fighting with her father, the suspects brought her to the Nkisi River and raped her.
She claims that they dragged and slapped her to the river, where they gave her instructions to remove her clothes before taking turns having sex with her. Two of the suspects acknowledged to the crime while being questioned and begged for forgiveness, claiming that their conflict with her father was the reason they committed the act.
