…Each player gets ₦100m reward, coaches receive ₦50m
President Bola Tinubu has conferred the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on the Super Falcons of Nigeria in celebration of their outstanding victory at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
During the recognition ceremony held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Tinubu also announced a monetary reward of the naira equivalent of $100,000 (approximately ₦150 million at the prevailing exchange rate) to each of the 24 players.
In addition, each member of the technical crew was awarded the naira equivalent of $50,000 for their strategic role in leading the team to continental glory.
The president praised the Falcons for showcasing grit, discipline, and patriotism on the African stage. He described their WAFCON triumph as a moment of national pride and proof that Nigerian women are forces to reckon with in global sports.
