At a special ceremony on February 1st, 2023, at the NFF Secretariat, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, a total of 29 Nigerian referees will get their badges to serve as FIFA match officials for the calendar year 2023.
Ademola Olajire, the NFF’s director of media and communications, said that seven of the 29 officials will be designated as FIFA referees and another seven will be given the FIFA assistant referee designation.
In addition to the four beach soccer referees and the additional four futsal officials, there will be four FIFA women referees and three FIFA women assistant referees.
Only Muhammed Yakubu and Tijjani Ahmad, who will serve as FIFA assistant referees, are new to the position of top arbiter.
Ogabor Joseph, Nurudeen Abubakr, Quadri Adebimpe, Kassim Abdulsalam, Abdullahi Abubakar, Bashir Salihu, and Grema Mohammed are FIFA referees.
Samuel Pwadutakam, Usman Abdulmajeed, Efosa Igudia Celestine, Hope Igho, Tejiri Digbori, Muhammed Yakubu, and Tijjani Ahmad are FIFA assistant referees.
Jelili Ogunmuyiwa, Fawole Olawale, Olayinka Olajide, and Rabiu Ahmad are the FIFA Beach Soccer Referees.
Bello Zuru Alhassan, Musa Dung Davou, Paul Umuago, and Uhah Ndubuisi are FIFA Futsal referees.
Ndidi Patience, Hannah Eliagwu, Olufunmilayo Alaba, and Yemisi Akintoye are FIFA women’s referees.
