On the morning of July 25, 2025, gunmen suspected to be affiliated with the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) launched a deadly attack on Ndi-Ejezie, Um Tualaoma, and Ndiakuwata Uno communities in Arondizuogu, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State. The assault claimed over seven lives and left several residents critically injured, plunging the communities into grief. DSP Henry Okoye, the Imo State Police Command’s spokesperson, confirmed the incident, emphasizing the swift response from authorities. Commissioner of Police CP Aboki Danjuma denounced the attack as “barbaric, inhumane, and unacceptable,” vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice. Tactical and intelligence units have been mobilized to comb the area, with proactive measures now in place to ensure lasting peace and prevent further violence.
