Two managers of the Kingfisher restaurant in the Lekki neighborhood of Lagos State were detained by the government for violating the establishment’s closure.
Jubril Gawat, the senior special adviser to the governor of Lagos State on new media, revealed this in a post on his official X account on Monday.
The managers were detained, according to Gawat, after they violated the government seal that had been used to close the plant and resume regular operations.
He said that on Sunday night, while conducting a routine inspection of nearby sealed facilities, the state’s environmental protection agency’s general manager, Tunde Ajayi, and commissioner for the environment, Tokunbo Wahab, found this.
According to Gawat, the offenders will suffer the harshest punishment for their crimes when they are arraigned in court today.
The CSO to the Governor assisted in the arrest of two managers at around 12:30 a.m., he said, adding that the Governor’s monitoring team had offered security backup.
They will be charged in court today and will get the harshest punishment possible for their actions.
Due to persistent environmental infractions, agents of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency sealed various entertainment venues in Lekki Phase 1 on Saturday.
Red Bar, Kingfisher, Sea Lounge, HOV Lounge, Circa, Bolivar, and Bay Lounge are among the places that are impacted.
