A U.S. congresswoman has raised fresh alarm over the escalating attacks on Christians in Nigeria, warning that the violence grows “more dangerous with each passing day.”

Congresswoman Nancy Mace, in a statement on Friday, declared that Nigeria “has become one of the deadliest countries in the world for Christians,” accusing the current U.S. administration of failing to respond decisively. She argued that the pattern of targeted killings has persisted without meaningful action from Washington.

Mace criticized former President Joe Biden for removing Nigeria from the U.S. Country of Particular Concern (CPC) list—an international religious freedom designation reserved for nations that commit or tolerate severe violations.

She praised former President Donald Trump for what she described as a stronger stance on global religious freedom. “President Trump is working to reverse those decisions,” she said, adding that the former president remains “one of the most consequential leaders in American history.”

Her comments come as debates intensify in Washington over how the U.S. should confront ongoing claims of persecution and mounting attacks against Christian communities in Nigeria.
