49 professors have received promotions to the ranks of professor and associate professor at the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA).

The university’s Governing Council, which was presided over by professor Ahmed Modibbo, gave its approval to the academics’ advancement.

Habib Yakoob, the university’s director of information and university relations, stated as much in a statement.

22 of the concerned lecturers, according to Mr. Yakoob, were elevated to the level of professor, and 27 to that of associate professor.

The promotion of the academic staff was approved by the council in its 94th and 95th regular meetings, which were held on October 5th and 6th, 2022, and December 8th and 9th, 2022, respectively.

Biological sciences, Guidance and Counseling, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Public Law, Veterinary Pathology, Political Science, Islamic Studies, History and Diplomatic Studies, and more are included in the approved advancement, he continued.

Professors and Associate Professors of Economics, Chemistry, Physics, Veterinary Anatomy, Theatre Arts, Mechanical Engineering, Public Administration, Sociology, Computer Science, and Philosophy are among the other disciplines, according to a university spokeswoman.

Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, the vice chancellor of the institution, congratulated the academic staff on achieving professorial level and urged them to keep up the hard work that had brought about the honor.

Mr. Na’Allah declared that the university administration would continue to urge staff members to be diligent, obedient, and disciplined while advising against laziness and mediocrity with the backing and direction of the Council.

While congratulating you on your promotion to the professorial position, he said: “I urge you to continue exhibiting persistent hard effort, high quality teaching, and research, all of which have significantly contributed to your elevation to this highly sought-after status.

“Let me also urge other academics to be more tenacious and diligent because we are determined to have well-trained employees who can hold their heads high and have the capacity and zeal to drive our great university into the league of world-class universities,” the speaker continues.

Professor Mr. Na’Allah stated that the university is extremely proud of the fact that “a number of great female academics were also promoted to professorial cadre” during this most recent promotion.
