The University of Ilorin’s Governing Council has approved the appointment and promotion of 31 new professors and 38 readers in the institution’s several departments.

Dr. Fola Olowoleni, Registrar and Secretary to the Council, stated on Tuesday that “this is one of the highlights of the 182nd sitting of the council.”

According to her, the clearance came after the Appointments and Promotions Committee considered recommendations for promotions to the levels of professors and readers for the 2020 and 2021 academic years.

Dr. Taibat Adebisi, Department of Home Economics and Food Science; Dr. Modinah Abdulraheem, Department of Chemistry; and Dr. Olabisi Adekola, Department of Agronomy, are among the new professors.

Dr. Mutiat Balogun of the Department of Home Economics and Food Science, Dr. Sadiat Shuaib of the Department of Performing Arts, Dr. Azeezat Amoloye-Adebayo of the Department of Islamic Law, and Dr. Faoziyat Sulaiman of the Department of Biochemistry are also among the new readers.
