Using AK-47 rifles, the robbers, who were reported to be numerous, assaulted the encampment of three herders on Sunday evening, March 3.

The incident happened at 6 p.m. on Saturday. The thieves stole 100 cows from the second camp after robbing Alhaji Ibrahim Yabari’s camp of 123 cows.

“When they were trying to resist them from rustling the cows,” one of the robbers opened fire and murdered two herders, according to a source.

Later, when the troops from the nearby village of Janjala came, they were still searching for the culprits.

As of the time this report was filed, DSP Mansur Hassan, the spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command, has not returned calls on his cell phone.
