Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has described suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, as his political son. In a BBC Pidgin interview released on Saturday, Wike clarified that his ongoing political feud isn’t aimed at Fubara directly but at individuals he believes are manipulating the young governor.

Wike emphasized loyalty and political mentorship, insisting Fubara was elevated through his support and influence. “I no get wahala with Fubara. Na people wey dey deceive am I dey face,” he said, hinting at betrayal from within his own camp.

He defended his actions as protective rather than punitive, stating that his battle is to defend integrity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and safeguard political structures from sabotage.
