The list of some of the 135 roads that were inaugurated for renovation and resurfacing in the Wuse, Garki, Gwarimpa, and Maitama Districts has been made public by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the FCT, assigned the contractors a six-month deadline for completion when he opened up Phase I of the projects on Monday.
The majority of the projects would be carried out in Wuse District, according to the list of the streets that will be rehabilitated and resurfaced that the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja received on Tuesday.
Daloa, Kayes, Umme, Bumbuna, Masana, Badundu, Oran, Sawhaj, Arusha Crescent, Sunyani, Bamako, Takorade, Dakar, Bulawayo, Soka, Darioa, Kaolack, Kigali, and Gonder Street are among the streets in Wuse Zone 1 that will receive rehabilitation.
Kribi, Kumba, Touggourf, Kisumu, Gaborone, Faranah, Gabes, Lavumisa, Niami, Johannesburg, Angola, Korhogo, Bechar, Senanga, Hargeysa and 2, Khartoum, and Damba Street are the streets in Zone 2.
Six streets in Zone 3—Idimba, Port Loko, Ndele, Yele, Al-Fayyun, and Aswan—will be renovated or resurfaced.
Mandingou, Lubumbashi, Port Said, Mogadishu, Shinyanga, Sfax, Zinglunchor, Kitwe, Elminya Close, Sefadu, Meknes, Safi, Mbala, Gwelo, Melange, Savalou, Sheraton, and Yar’adua Road are among the streets in Zone 4 that need repair.
In total, five roads in Zone 5—Doula Street, Mombasa Street, Windhoek Street, Boffa Street, and Jessaoua Close—would receive rehabilitation.
Cotonou, Yaounde, Makeni, Massenya, Annaba, Bukoma, Mobondo, Mbabani, Diovo, Berbera, Chiongola, Jima, Kinshahsha, Bouake, Rabat, Tanga, Timbuktu, Zinder, Rumbek, Zuwai, Beyia, and Tema are the streets in Zone 6 that need renovation.
Diredawa Street, Kalemie, Asmara, Mbandaka, Macenata/Welkom, Harare, Tripoli, Maseru, Iringa, and Dodoma Streets are some further examples.
The streets in Zone 7 are Dalaba Street, Masaka Close, Lome, Harper, Huambo, Ndola, Sirasso, and Bambari Crescents.
Ladoke Akintola Boulevard, Garki II, and Strabag Road, Gwarimpa Life-Camp would both receive rehabilitation in the Garki District.
The N16 Road, Maitama Roundabout, and N11/B4 (Ahmadu Bello Way/This Day Dome Junction) are the routes in Maitama. It is also located at the intersection of Ring Road 1 and Tafawa Balewa Way in Area 3-Garki.
Behind the Rita Lori Hotel, on House 14, 1 and 2, off Jere Street, are two more.
The projects were in line with the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, according to Mr. Wike’s explanation at the inauguration.
