Babatunji Wusu –

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), led by Nyesom Wike, has identified the area councils most affected by kidnapping.

Ebele Molokwu, Director of Administration and Finance, FCTA Security Services Department, identified Bwari, Kuje, and Abaji as abduction hotspots.

Molokwu said this during the department’s end-of-the-year media briefing.

According to the Director, major kidnapping incidents in the territory are often from such councils, despite the fact that there have been sporadic cases in other area councils.
She claimed that the councils’ proximity to states known for kidnapping allows the bandits to flee fast when they strike in Abuja.

Molokwu stated that the administration was resolved to put a stop to both kidnapping and one-time syndicates in the territory.

According to Adamu Gwary, Director of the Department, the security committee has been divided into two parts: the kinetic, which includes key security agencies, and the non-kinetic, which includes traditional rulers and other important stakeholders.
He stated that the FCTA now incorporates traditional rulers in a non-kinetic way, where district leaders meet periodically with village heads and relay the decision reached at the meeting with graded chiefs through the Ona of Abaji.
