Wizkid Declares Asake His Top Choice to Perform at His Wedding

Grammy-winning Nigerian artiste Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has expressed his desire for Afrobeats star Asake to perform at his long-anticipated wedding.

Wizkid made the request during a recent appearance on Apple Music Radio with Asake and DJ Tunez. He disclosed that Asake’s breakout hit, Omo Ope, turned him into a committed fan, but Remember remains his favourite track and the song he wants performed on his wedding day.

The Starboy boss praised Asake’s vocal prowess, describing him as one of the most gifted vocalists in Africa and globally. He said Asake continues to strengthen the continent’s music identity and enrich its global appeal.

According to him, “Omo Ope made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favourite Asake song is Remember. You have to play that one on my wedding day. It is an amazing record. You are amazing, you have one of the most special voices from Africa and in the world. You are a blessing to African music.”

Wizkid, who is in a relationship with Jada P—his manager and mother of his three children—has teased plans for a wedding for several years, keeping fans eager for updates.
