Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has dismissed reports claiming he is planning to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the party’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket, describing the allegations as false and misleading.

In a press statement signed by Dr. Dominic Alancha, Dogara’s camp said the reports circulating on some media platforms were baseless and deliberately designed to create political tension and mislead the public.

According to the statement, Dogara remains a committed and loyal member of the APC and has neither resigned from the ruling party nor indicated any intention to do so.

The statement emphasized that the former Speaker remains dedicated to the unity, growth, and success of the APC, adding that he will continue working with party leaders, members, and supporters across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

It further stated that Dogara is fully committed to supporting the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and ensuring the APC records victory in the next general election.

The statement also noted that Dogara’s focus remains on promoting good governance, national unity, and the continued progress of Nigeria under the leadership of the APC.

The public and media organizations were urged to disregard what the statement described as fake reports and rely only on verified information from credible and official sources.

It warned those responsible for spreading the rumours to desist from circulating false information capable of undermining the unity of the ruling party.

The statement concluded by reaffirming that the APC remains united, focused, and determined to consolidate on its achievements while preparing for the 2027 elections.
