18 days have been set aside by the Yobe State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education for students and teachers to discharge their civic duty in the next general elections.
According to a letter in Damaturu from the director of the Schools Management Committee, Bukar M. Modu:
I want to let you know that the commissioner has approved 18 days off between February 23 and March 13, 2023, so that students and instructors can exercise their civic rights in the upcoming general elections.
According to the letter, the interruption was made due to some students’ distance from polling places, particularly international students. However, the Third Term holiday will be shortened by 10 days.
“Students are to break for the Third Term holiday from Tuesday, August 15, rather than Friday, August 4, 2023, as initially scheduled in the calendar,” he continued.
“The commissioner hopes that all students and instructors will have trouble-free elections. Students have been warned not to act as thugs for anyone.
The Yobe State administration is dedicated to their wellbeing and will keep giving them top-notch education for the future.
