Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a PDP presidential candidate, has nominated Prof. Usman Yusuf to the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign council as a special adviser on community involvement.

Atiku instructed Prof. Yusuf to use his extensive contacts and knowledge to carry out the duties of his position in a letter that he personally signed.

By virtue of this appointment, the Professor is mandated to provide advisory services on matters relating to community engagement by locating community-based organizations for necessary interface with local communities and regularly organizing innovative programs and events with pertinent local stakeholders in order to mobilize support for the PDP candidate and ensure victory in the election.

In order to spread Atiku’s objectives and ideas and secure their acceptance and essential support in the local communities, he is also tasked with developing close contacts with local community leaders, community-based organizations, gender and various age groups in the grassroots. Yusuf served as the National Health Insurance Scheme’s former executive secretary.

Remember how an Ahmadu Bello University alumni and professor of haematology-oncology and bone marrow transplantation said in an interview that Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, would find it challenging to campaign in the Southeast?

He had published a number of essays endorsing Atiku Abubakar, the PDP candidate, and was widely regarded as a fervent supporter of the PDP candidate.
