President Muhammadu Buhari has won the Presidential election in Lagos State, defeating his rival, Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, by 132,798 vote’s margin.

In the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Yaba area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria on Monday afternoon, Buhari won in 15 Local Government Areas of Lagos, while Atiku won in five Local Governments.

The final result sees Buhari of the APC polling 580,814 votes to beat Atiku, who got 448,016 votes in keenly contested election.

Atiku won in Amuwo Odofin, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Eti-Osa, Ojo and Surulere, while Buhari won the rest of the councils. The South East and South South factor in those five councils was the reason Buhari lost in the areas.
