The Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has denied allegations that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu paid a bribe to a physically challenged man to endorse his candidacy.
Reno Omokri, Atiku Abubakar’s right hand man, tweeted a brief video of Tinubu handing money to a physically challenged individual with the caption: “Breaking: Bola Tinubu Caught Red Handed Sharing Money To Politicians.”
The short video has gone viral, but the PCC has dismissed the opposition’s claim that the money was a bribe.
Hannatu Musawa, the Deputy Spokesperson of Tinubu/Shettima PCC, disputed the opposition’s claim of bribery in a statement on Wednesday titled “Misrepresentation of an innocuous video I, Hannatu Musa Musawa, shared of my principals delivering alms and charity to a destitute and crippled elderly guy.”
She stated that she was drawn to the dishonest, erroneous, and incorrect narrative spun by unctuous, dissipated, debauched, and desperate elements within the opposition in order to turn a perfectly innocent video she posted of a kind act she witnessed her Principals performing into something mendacious and devious.
She stated that she recently attended a gathering with Tinubu and his running companion, Alhaji Kashim Shetima, where they engaged in a robust engagement with people with disabilities.
“Our principals got the opportunity to connect with a poor and crippled elderly person,” Musawa stated during the event. My leaders spoke to this individual, listened to him, and executed the tenant of charity and alms giving towards him entirely out of sympathy.

“As I saw this tender moment between the three men, I wanted to capture it and show the world the empathy that organically runs through the blood of my principles, and the raw spirit of compassion that they both ingest.
“I posted the video, not out of mistake, but with the intention of telling the compassionate story of the empathetic leadership that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, supported by Alhaji Kashim Shetima will surely give to Nigeria after they emerge victorious in the upcoming election, by the grace of The Almighty.
“As I witness the bad chronicle being spun by the opposition Svengali’s, attempting to impose a specific negative story on the public, it is apparent that the deception being circulated derives from the crafty imagination and malicious manipulations of a desperate and self-combusting opposition.
“I would have rejected the speculations as the rantings of a minor opposition. However, I am obligated to respond because innocent Nigerians may be deceived by such deceptive speech.”
Musawa went on to say that on Monday, December 19, 2022, at approximately 4:48 p.m., her two principles, Tinubu and Shetima, committed an act of compassion for a poor and crippled man who was actually in need.
She stated that after observing them, she was even more sure that these were two guys of precious faith with hearts of kindness, understanding, and compassion, and that it was a tale that needed to be told.
“It is good with the man who is generous and lends; He will preserve his cause in judgment,” the Bible says in Psalm (112:5-9). Because he will never be shaken, and the virtuous will be remembered forever. He will not be afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, believing in the Lord.
“In Islam, we are taught that the prophet (PBUH) says in a hadith, “Muslims support each other only through crossing the bridge of almsgiving. Almsgiving becomes a basic tenant for Muslims and Christians to follow as a result of the two holy teachings, giving charity and alms expressly to help the destitute.
“That two-minute film clip was a visual representation of my principal’s compassion for the poor. Rather than praising Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Alhaji Kashim Shetima for a compassionate deed toward a plainly needy man, the opposition has, regrettably, chosen to cast a bad light on a narrative of good will and genuine generosity.
“With the trajectory of the impending election indicating that the pendulum is swinging in favor of an APC victory, there is no doubt that the opposition is acting like the proverbial “drowning man,” desperate to drag others down with them. And, while it serves little value to combine concerns with a losing opponent, it is critical to emphasize their diversionary rhetoric and tactics,’ she said.
Musawa added that, while she understands the PDP’s despair and anguish at losing five “brightly shining” governors, and the Labour Party’s anguish and despair at having a “Constitutional Impossibility” of winning the next election based on Section 134 of the Constitution, it would be best for them to stay focused on the issues while they worked to resolve their internal squabbles.
She asked Nigerians to dismiss any fabrication linked to her video of an act of love and compassion and instead focus on working together to take the nation ahead by making the next voting process the freest and fairest elections Nigeria has ever seen.
