Harry Kane’s goal in Sunday’s 1-0 Premier League victory over Manchester City made him Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer, a fantastic accomplishment.
This was Kane’s 267th goal for the team, just one more than Jimmy Greaves’ record. From 1961 to 1970, Greaves was a member of the Tottenham team.
After his most recent accomplishment, Kane called Antonio Conte, his manager, who is now in Italy after having his gallbladder operated on Wednesday.
Kane was commended by Conte, who remarked, “You made me proud.” Kane responded with joy, “Ah, thank you.”
“He is the GOAT,”
Harry Kane has football in his DNA, according to assistant coach Cristian Stellini, who is leading Tottenham in Conte’s absence.
He is aware of football at all times. He is versatile and can play anywhere.
“In this league and in this sport, he is the GOAT (best of all time). He is a terrific example,” Stellini exclaimed with enthusiasm.
Kane is now the third player, behind Wayne Rooney (260) and Alan Shearer (260), to reach the 200 Premier League goal mark (208).
In December 2011, the England captain scored his first goal for Spurs.
Kane afterwards discussed his accomplishment on Sky Sports. “It’s a wonderful sensation. I never ever dreamed I’d score 200 Premier League goals when I first started playing regularly, and I still have a few more years remaining, so perhaps there will be more. Being included alongside [Jimmy Greaves], one of the best strikers to ever play the game, is an honor. And for me, passing him is a major accomplishment.
