The Edo State Government has warned gas stations against stockpiling petroleum supplies in order to inflate their prices and create a fake scarcity.

As a result of President Bola Tinubu’s elimination of the fuel subsidy on May 29, there are reports that gasoline lines have returned in filling stations.

In a statement, Governor Godwin Obaseki’s chief of staff, Osaigbovo Iyoha, issued a warning that any gas station found to be stockpiling goods will have its landed property revoked.

The dishonest attempt by petrol merchants in the state to hoard fuel and inflate prices has come to the attention of the Edo State Government.

All gas stations have been instructed to restart selling the products to Edo residents right now or face immediate closure and the potential loss of their property, allowing anyone who wish to conduct legitimate business in Edo State to travel there and make investments.
