43 prisoners incarcerated for varying sentences around the state have been freed thanks to efforts by the Federal Government and Minister of the Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
This is accomplished by paying fines and compensation.
The exercise aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, which aims to improve the lives of impoverished Nigerians through a range of initiatives and intervention programs.

According to Longdiem, the exercise was carried out by NCoS Controller General Haliru Nababa, who was represented by the Controller in the Plateau, Jimoh Ibinuhi.
According to him, the interior minister was complimented for putting the wellbeing of prisoners first and the controller general thanked the federal government for its assistance.
However, the Controller General recommended the beneficiaries to avoid criminality and follow the law, the NCoS official continued.
Additionally, he counseled them to make full use of the abilities and reformative exercises they had acquired throughout their incarceration.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), each of the released prisoners received N10,000 for transportation to their different locations.
