Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar congratulates the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ayuba Wabba on his recent re-election as the President of the Congress.
The statement which was made available to The Premier News was signed by the Media Adviser to Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe.
The PDP presidential candidate says that Wabba’s re-election is a confirmation of the confidence reposed in him by the majority of Nigerian workers who are members of the NLC.
Atiku also said that his re-election is a vote of confidence on how the NLC President has discharged his duties of protecting the interest and welfare of Nigerian workers during his first term.
The Waziri Adamawa also congratulates other members of the elected National Executive Committee of the NLC, both new and the re-elected, urging them to work together for a virile and responsible Union of workers and ensure that they use every available opportunity to protect the interest of workers by constructively engaging the government and other stakeholders who are critical to workers welfare.
The former Vice President commended the management and members of the NLC for organizing a peaceful and successful election adding that at a time the entire country is set to go into general elections, the peaceful, free and fair polls should challenge the national electoral body, security agencies, the candidates and indeed all Nigerians to emulate a good example of the NLC.
Atiku Abubakar assures the Comrade Wabba-led NEC of his support and collaboration in ensuring that Nigerian workers receive living wages and that their welfare is accorded top priority if by the grace of God he is elected as President on February 16.
The PDP Presidential candidate also counts on the support of the NLC management in his avowed commitment to Get Nigeria Working Again for the betterment of all of its people.
