Controversial Nigerian musician Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, is now in the custody of the Ogun State Police Command. The confirmation came on Wednesday from Ogun Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola.
As reported earlier, Portable had voluntarily surrendered himself at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) following an incident that led to a police investigation. Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command, confirmed that Portable was transferred to the Ogun State Command for further processing.
Odutola’s update confirmed Portable’s arrival at the Ogun State Command’s SCID at 13:23 hours on February 19, 2025. She emphasized that the ongoing investigation would proceed according to due process, with public updates provided as necessary.
Portable’s legal troubles stem from a violent confrontation with officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. The incident occurred when the singer allegedly clashed with three town planning officials—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—who were conducting an enforcement exercise in Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, Ogun State.
