In another move to ease fuel costs, Dangote Refinery has slashed its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N820 per litre, marking its second downward adjustment in just one week.

The latest cut, down from N840, was disclosed via the company’s official X handle on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. The statement said the new rate takes immediate effect, offering relief to marketers and, by extension, consumers.

The refinery, which boasts a daily processing capacity of 650,000 barrels, had earlier reduced the price to N840 on July 1, triggering a ripple effect across the fuel supply chain.

Following the initial price cut, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited responded by adjusting its pump price to N910 per litre in Abuja, down from earlier highs.

Likewise, MRS, one of Dangote’s major retail partners, revised its retail prices to N905 per litre in Abuja and N895 per litre in Lagos.

With these consistent reductions, Dangote Refinery appears to be setting a pricing tone in the downstream sector, potentially influencing broader market trends and easing pressure on consumers amid persistent inflation.
